Senior Community Services Training
and Employment Program

Older adults are an untapped resource in today’s workforce, offering experience, integrity and skills in the workplace. However, to be employable in today’s competitive job market, new skills and career directions may need to be explored.

Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging offers assistance to adults age 55 and over entering or reentering the workforce.

Consultation and assistance is available to explore past job experience and current career goals. Retraining opportunities are explored and assistance is provided in obtaining help from a range of employment resources.

Training and job experience are available to eligible individuals age 55 and over through placement in training positions in local community service or non-profit agencies. Placements offer training opportunities of up to 20 hours per week at minimum wage. After the placement ends, help is offered finding a job at a higher wage.

Whether you need to work to supplement your retirement income or want to work and are considering either part or full time employment, contact our office for further information.
