October: A Season of Change, Connection & Care

October brings cooler days, changing leaves, and a reminder that every season offers new opportunities to connect, prepare, and care for ourselves and the people around us.

At Northwestern Illinois Area Agency on Aging (NIAAA), this month is especially meaningful. Medicare Open Enrollment begins October 15, making this an important time for beneficiaries to review their coverage and make sure it continues to meet their needs for the coming year. Our October Newsletter also looks at the many dimensions of living and aging well. You'll find information about caregiver support, dementia-friendly communities, volunteer and social opportunities, fall home safety, World Mental Health Day, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and events happening throughout our community.
